In 1969, Dr. George Miller delivered his presidential address to the American Psychological Association. In that speech, he articulated a vision for where psychology could be in the 21st century. He was talking to a deeply divided nation. At a time when mistrust, fear and anger pervaded, Dr. Miller called for a "public psychology". This public psychology, he claimed, should help people realize inspiration, self-direction, imagination, ingenuity and creativity in service of the life-affirming goals to which they are most committed. Public psychology is a public good. It's practitioners should strive to keep it that way.
At Public Psychology, I believe that therapy should be a unique and empowering experience tailored to your needs. I have a good deal of experience treating trauma, relationship conflicts, personality disorders, men's issues, and managing health, pain and injury rehabilitation. My practice is based out of Calgary but I am also licensed to provide online therapy to clients across Alberta, Manitoba and Nova Scotia. I also provide treatment to psychologists based out of Saskatchewan. I primarily work with adults, couples, injured workers, first responders and military service members. I also provide supervision, teaching and consultation to individuals and groups.
Whatever psychological challenges you are facing, I offer science-based treatment to help you build resilience, strengthen connections, and rediscover meaning in your life.
