INDIVIDUAL COUNSELLING
Dr. Simon specializes in treating adults and older teenagers with mood and anxiety disorders, anger, addictions, personality disorders, trauma, chronic disease and pain, and relationship conflicts.
ONLINE THERAPY (ALBERTA)
Therapy services are offered in-person, online or in a combined-hybrid format, depending on your needs and availability. Online therapy is available to any resident of Alberta, regardless of your location.
COUPLES THERAPY
Couples therapy is designed to create a space for each individual while allowing the relationship to define itself and grow. Dr. Simon has treated a wide variety of relationship issues including infidelity, family conflict, abuse, and addiction issues.
STRESS & TRAUMA
Stress and trauma can lead to a lifetime of suffering if not treated. Fortunately, there exists very effective treatment for many traumatic stress disorders. Dr. Simon uses Prolonged Exposure and Cognitive Processing Therapy to achieve lasting results.
CHRONIC PAIN
Pain is a complex process involving the body, mind, and lived environment. Dr. Simon has years of experience working with the latest in pain research to help individuals manage or even find relief from chronic pain.
VAC & RCMP
ANXIETY & DEPRESSION
Anxiety and depression are among the most common mental health problems affecting Canadian society today. Psychological therapy is demonstrated to be the first line of treatment in these conditions. Dr. Simon has extensive experience treating a wide variety of anxiety and depressive problems.
Individual, couples and some supportive family therapy to members who are insured with Veterans Affairs Canada, including retired and still-serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces and Royal Canadian Mounted Police and their families.
CULTURAL CONFLICTS
PSYCHOANALYSIS & PSYCHODYNAMIC THERAPY
Dr. Simon has completed extensive training in both long-term psychoanalysis and short-term psychodynamic therapy (STPD). However, he integrates these approaches with the latest research in psychoanalysis and neuropsychology.
As a multi-ethnic person who has lived in several countries, Dr. Simon has both professional and lived experiences helping people navigate cross-cultural conflicts within family, work and other social systems.
CONSULTING
Dr. Simon offers consulting for individuals, groups, and organizations. Topics may include inclusivity, fostering a resilient work environment, connecting to meaning and purpose.
TRAINING & TEACHING
Dr. Simon has provided keynote sessions to organizations, taught university courses, trained community organizations, and even been featured on local radio! Topics may include psychoanalysis, social determinants of health, deliberate practice, supervision, clinical psychology, building resiliency, and more. SUPERVISION
Dr. Simon provides external supervision for provisionally registered psychologists within Alberta. However, availability may be limited and mutual vetting must be conducted to establish a good working relationship.
